Nanoleaf with Alexa intergration
With the help of Home Assistant I switch the Nanoleaf to music mode when it detects media playing on the living room Echo, It then switches it back when the music stops.

I wish Alexa could give a different response then "okay" to every command. This shows how she should converse with you. You will notice Jarvis can give you a different response to the same command. Programs and equipment . Amazon Echo dot v2 . HTPC . Milight/LimitlessLED bulbs . Harmony hub x2 . Eventghost . Voxcommando . Autoremote Chrome extension
Plex pause automation

Just a quick demo of using Eventghost to turn on side lights when I pause a movie then off again once pressing play. So the basic functions I have working are. . Turn all lights off 5 seconds after launching Plex . Turn side lights on after pressing Pause . Turn all lights off after pressing play. USing a HTPC running Plex and Eventghost, Milight Bulbs and strip lighting, Harmony remote and HUB.

Voice comand is not automation. Integration into a heating cooling system doing it without saying anything is automation. This is overpriced garbage for people how don't know better. And automation has existed for systems like these since WW2. They keep pandering to idiots instead of making nice things. These things are generation past when they should have been common in the home and outside of industrial/commercial use. Proper automation could poll for heat and enhance a heating cooling system and electric use. This is just a voice contolled remote. The point of automation is to be efficient. Either energy wise or functionally wise in regards to qaulity of the system. Ease of use isn't really efficiency from the house perspective outside of use. And the voice thing isn't really an improvement over remotes as it's annoying to say. Proper automation could do much more interesting things and work universally with anything produced. It just needs proper info from the manufacturer to the specifics of each product and can do anything the data allows. You should even be able to make non automatic reverse fans automatic. but we choose not to make those items anymore for no good reason. There are many way to do anything with anything if you just choose to do it. Automated lighting can be done well. Anything can. Everything that exist is definable. The problem is alwasy someone not defining enough to control it to expectation/desires. It can always be done. And in many ways. Including a lack of spy ability potential. Until external spying ability advances enough it's not needed. That is a different problem.
